In continuation of his gubernatorial campaign, the candidate of one of the leading opposition parties in Oyo State, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin will on Thursday, 10th January, 2019 commence a campaign tour across local governments in the state.
Senator Lanlehin stated that the campaign tour will start at local government areas that fall within Ibadan less city before it moves to Oke Ogun.
Senator Lanlehin gave the hint at his campaign office shortly after the rally across major markets and places in Ibadan on Tuesday.
The African Democratic Congress governorship candidate, while at Idi-Arere, where area boys looted and set ablaze properties worth millions of Naira, promised to address the issue of the security levy imposed on the people of the state by the present administration.
He described the situation as one of several security lapses the state government has been keeping away from the media and the outside world.
Senator Lanlehin condoled with the victims and the entire citizens of the state who have been living in fear and urged them to be rest assured of adequate and effective security of lives and property once he is elected as the governor of the state.
‘Solan’, as Lanlehin is fondly called was also at Oje and Agodi Gate Motor Spare Parts Markets where he promised to upgrade Oje market to international standard, thereby making it attractive for the international business community to patronize the traditional wares and accessories on sale in the market.
He berated efforts of the present administration to hijack the market’ land and allocate to top APC members without putting into consideration the lingering poverty the step may cause.
Senator Lanlehin advised the traders at the Gate Spare Parts Market to bear their present predicament as he is poised to wipe their tears once elected.
He added that good roads, toilets, potable water, health facilities and revolving loans for the traders are part of his plans traders within one year of his administration.
Senator Lanlehin, while assuring the people to ignore any rumour against ADC, said that the party is more cohesive and organized than it was two months ago.
His words, “we don’t have any problem at all in ADC, we are very okay and nothing suggests that anybody left our party because we are even stronger, bigger, peaceful, purposeful, well organized and more cohesive than it was about two months ago.
“Everyone is a Very Important Personality (VIP) in ADC of today and that is evident in our rallies either in Iseyin, Ogbomoso, Oyo and Ibadan. No party can boast of arrays of tested and trusted politicians in ADC fold.
“The likes of Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, Senator Olusoji Akanbi and Barrister Bayo Lawal are some of the very few eggheads Nigeria can be proud of and that’s why we are putting them forward as our candidates because Oyo State deserves the best”.
The rally was attended by prominent candidates of the party in forthcoming elections including Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, Senator Soji Akanbi, Arch Bashir Lawal, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, Hon. Yemi Aderibigbe, Hon. Olusunmbo Olugbemi, Hon. Michael Akintola, Hon. Segun Olaleye and many others.
