Saturday, 17th November proved to be yet another day of honour for the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate for Akwa Ibom State for the 2019 election, Obong Nsima Ekere.
He shone brilliantly like a thousand stars at the 2018 edition of New Telegraph Awards that took place at the expansive Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event in which The New Telegraph Newspaper honoured Ekere with an award had some prominent Nigerians likes of the Chairman, BUA Group, Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, Chief Dan Chukwudozie of Dozzy Group as well as Federal Ministers, Babatunde Fashola (SAN) and Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi in attendance.
Interestingly, Ekere was recognised and honoured with the Corporate Leadership Award for the second consecutive year. Despite exhibiting profound humility, his sterling qualities stand him out always.
Nsima Ekere’s humility is one distinguishing feature many speak about, especially in Akwa Ibom, his home state. It is also believed to be the reason he is extremly popular among his people and the outside world.
Dr. Ekere, while thanking the Management and Staff of the New Telegraph, for finding him worthy of the honour, promised not to come short in his mission to impact positively in the lives of people both home and abroad to improve the quality of lives they live in any way possible to him.
The suave and urbane MD is also well respected because of the exploits of the NDDC under his leadership.
Members of the APC in Akwa Ibom believe his competence on the job contributed in no small measure to his emergence as the party’s flagbearer at the coming governorship poll.
