“ADC Will Produce Oyo’s Next Governor”- Olaniyan

Engineer Raufu Aderemi Olaniyan, a gubernatorial aspirant of the Africa Democratic Congress ADC in Oyo State has said the party will win the governorship elections in 2019, while also reaffirming that he is still very much a member of the party.

Olaniyan said this on Tuesday while addressing journalists at an event to mark the new Islamic calendar, Hijra 1440 organised by the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO), at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

While fielding questions from journalists, Olaniyan who is a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, noted that the Africa Democratic Congress is a party that he has helped build and there is absolutely no reason why he should leave the party at this point in time, remarking that one cannot expect a party in the mould of ADC not to have some teething problems at the onset, but with the kind of excellent leadership the party is blessed with such issues will be resolved amicably to the satisfaction of all.
The retired Permanent Secretary in the Oyo State public service urged members of the public to disregard rumors making rounds that he has left the party, stressing that there was never a time he contemplated exiting the Africa Democratic Congress.

He said the rumor was most likely being peddled by enemies of the party.

The Igboho born politician assured his numerous supporters that he continues to be a member of the ADC and restated his commitment to seek the party’s ticket to contest as governor of Oyo state in 2019.
In his Hijra message to Muslims, he advised that love should be given priority among the Islamic community and to ensure that they continue to abide by the dictates of the holy Qur’an as taught by Prophet Muhammad {SWT)
He also expressed his appreciation to NACOMYO for hosting a beautiful event and hoped that they continue in that light, while assuring them of his consistent support.
