The Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, on Tuesday fired the Director of the Department of State Services.
According to a statement from the Senior Special Assistant to Laolu Akande, the Vice President on Media and Publicty, “the Acting President directed the termination of the appointment of the Director General, State Security Service, Lawal Musa Daura with immediate effect”.
Akande also disclosed that “Mr. Daura has been directed to hand over to the most senior officer of the State Security Service until further notice”.
The dismissal is believed to be connected to the blockage of the National Assembly as members were prevented from gaining access for a few hours.
